The ferry from Yenikapi to Bandirma was quick and uneventful...which is kind of how you want all ferry journeys to be to be honest! Once we reached the Asian continent (big excitement!) we pedalled for an hour or so, before finding a suitable camping spot next to a field. It's nice to be cycling once again, especially as the bikes now have every touring cyclist's essential accessory: our national flag! We feel weirdly excited to have more of a sense of cultural identity on the road.
Other than that, there's not much news! After introducing a daily 'cake' break in Germany (a tradition that still persists!) we now appear to have factored in an ice cream break into the day too (around 3pm when temperatures are at their peak!). Wall's Twister is the current favourite! Despite the many thousands of calories we are consuming on a daily basis, Ashley is still managing to lose weight and is looking as trim as he's ever been! Apparently we have inadvertently discovered the answer that a million 'weight loss' books have previously failed to deliver: a diet of whatever you fancy, coupled with a mere 6-7 hours of medium to high intensity cycling per day in sweat-inducing temperatures...!!...hmmm...not so sure that's a very marketable approach to dieting?!
